Eyes for Lies has a good article on the husband of Susan. Good reading.

wow thanks for this insightful read. I like eyes for lies. I think she hit the nail on the head here. He is not a good liar and the camping was a cover. Who takes two young children out , obviously past their bedtime in the dark to set up a camp. I am an avid camper and like to get to my site before dark to get acclimated with the area and have everything set up before dark. Another point she made was how unconcerned he appeared, and the fact that he gave the excuse he didn't know what day it was when he missed work, he didn't know what time his wife went to bed, nor what time they left for camping. The cops need to be all over him!

It's amazing. The whole world knows he did something. His story of taking his two "toddler" age children out camping in the middle of the night during subzero weather is as phoney as a four dollar bill and no one in their right mind would fall for that story.

But they need some kind of witnesses or proof. It will be such a tragedy if he gets away with this. If I were Susan's father, I might be on the verge of doing something stupid like holding that jerk at gunpoint until he told me where he put my daughter's dead body and then keeping him at gunpoint until the body could be found.

Then handing him over to the police and letting them put me in the slammer for kidnapping and threatening MY DAUGHTER'S MURDERER with a gun!

Good Morning.... This just baffles me. The family is holding on to hope and that she may be found alive. Where do they think she is? She left her purse, and I am assuming her wallet with her id was in it and her cell phone. There are no bank records as far as we know showing a money trail of her leaving to start a new identity. Nothing as far as we know showing an online affair, or phone records indicating a third party. No just a strange stain on the floor that no one talks about, a husband who takes the kids camping in sub zero temps. late at night, and the fact that he has not searched for his wife, and just packed up and moved away. Why because logically we all know he knows she is dead and probably knows where she is. What is up with the Utah LE? Sorry to complain about them but they should have done a more thorough investigation on this before letting this man clear that house out!

You sure got that right. He murdered her that night and is pompous enough to think he can get away with it. Another Drew Peterson, Scott Peterson, the list goes on and on. I hope LE is playing this close to the vest!!

Linda, How is the search going? I know the snow has kept everyone at bay, but it seems as if her friends are saying she is alive, her family is holding on to hope that she is alive. On the website you cannot say anything speculative or about Josh. Do they know something we don't know? Le is tight lipped, we have not heard anything about the stain. I believe Josh is guilty and getting away with murder. Do you think the LDS is keeping the police from doing their job?
Sorry for all of the questions. Hugs! Donna

Hi Donna.

I think something is up with this case but we don't know what it is yet. The family had scheduled an important press conference for Monday but cancelled at the last minute. They have been evasive about it since then which is unusual. I know that family and friends do not believe she is alive, so I don't know if something has given them more hope or what.

I have not been searching much for a couple of reasons. I didn't feel it that important when I found out police were out searching where I wanted to go. I also have a problem with my car where their seems to be an electrical problem with the computer that tells the transmission what to do. I've spent nearly $1,000 to have it fixed, returned it 4 or 5 times and they never did fix the problem. I don't feel comfortable taking it out into the desert alone out of cell range - darn it!

Are you going to the Friends & Family of Susan Powell web site? They are mostly Mormon and run things without permitting speculation.

A few of us started up a FB site called "Where is Susan Powell" (WISP) which is a really good site. I'm an admin there with a huge list of other admins so it stays clean, polite and you can speculate as much as you want. It has ove 400 members now and has only been open about 3 weeks. Just tell the you are a friend of LindaOz.

Thanks Linda, I will check the site out. I can't believe we don't know what the stain is as of yet. Also the fact that they let her husband move out taking everything with him. Where are Susan's things? Crying or Very sad She had a friend over for brunch, what was Susan last seen wearing and did the cops find that outfit in her closet? The car alarm going off around 11:45, the neighbor said there were no lights on in the house at that time. I am wondering if Josh poisoned or gave her something to make her sleepy. The fact that he is not letting Susan's parents see the kids raises a huge red flag. Linda, I hope you get your car fixed and stay safe, don't go out to the desert by yourself, bring a friend. The buddy system is the best!!! Hugs

Donna - Police probably have the DNA back on the stain, but they have already said they will not be releasing any of that information. Wish we had a sunshine law like FL! Last week I had lunch with the woman who last saw Susan and Susan's best friend. They have given all info to police but police don't want it released. Police could not stop him from leaving the area as he is not listed as a suspect, only a person of interest.

Josh is back at the Utah house now getting it ready to rent. He wanted to just sell it but but legally can't since Susan's signature is needed to sell it. The day before he returned, a group of us went over and decorated the house with Susan's favorite colors, signs & hearts. That is where I met Kiirsi & JoVonna, best friend and last to see Susan.

Susan's family really needs closure. I can't begin to imagine their anguish right now.

Thanks Linda. I don't mean to be too hard on LE, it is just so frustrating. I know they are doing the best they can with what they have. I still think it is odd that Susan became very tired after brunch and I wonder if something was put in her food. I heard rumors do not know if it is true that Josh bought some shrink wrap, a large quantity before Susan went missing. Have you heard that? Any way I hope this takes months instead of years like some cases. hugs! cat

Donna - I just heard about the shrink wrap last night, and that has never been released before. The source was Tricia, the admin of Websleuths and she got it personally as a tip. Tricia is the one that was going to be searching with me, but she never could find the time. I'll email her and see how reliable that source is and if police had known about this all along. Josh did work for a trucking company that must have used this stuff. It would certainly help preserve evidence if he did.

I have had my times of being very critical of police, especially with their unwillingness to organize a volunteer search. They must have had Josh's cell pings and any credit or debit purchases for gas, food, etc. They must have a general direction of travel which would considerably narrow down the search area.

Thanks for the info about the house Linda. He can't sell it until if and when there is a death certificate issued for his Susan. Serves him right. But he can still make money off it by renting it.

I have a bad feeling that this guy is going to get by with murder. I just don't think they have enough evidence.

Golden - My feeling is that he won't get away with it, but it all depends on the type of police work that has been conducted vs any mistakes I suspect have been made. Since LE is so tightlipped about this, I don't know which way it is going to go.

All our lavendar and purple decorations have been taken down except a few bows on the fence and my wreath.

Hi Linda and other folks! Linda who took down all of your ribbons etc.? How sad, you all worked so hard on everything. Is the snow melting out your way yet for more searches? We have been hit here with one snow storm after another. Thanks El Nino! I find it odd that there is nothing in the news lately. I fear this case will grow cold. Sad
