If you happen to find a body, or anything suspicious of human remains - no not touch anything. You can step backwards in your previous footsteps and immediately notify police. Keep people from approaching until police arrive to secure the scene. If you have no cell contact (areas in West desert) and need to leave to find a phone or get into cell range, make sure you note exact location to report to police. If someone can remain on the scene to prevent people from approaching, and direct police to the area that would be ideal.

It is important not to relay what you have found to any media and let police take care of that.

If you find something you consider evidence - do not move or touch but notify police. You can photograph and note the exact location to report this to police.

Geez Linda, don't tell the media? Then how would people like us find out? Very Happy Just kidding. I sincerely hope I never come across a dead body.

I do have a funny story though. When my dad died unexpectedly a couple of years ago, he was at home in his favorite recliner. When we all got the call from my mom everyone sped over to her house as quickly as possible. Well the paramedics left him in the chair until the coroner got there, some sort of rule I guess and had covered him in a sheet. As we all got there we were told not to go into the bedroom cause he was still in there. Anyway my sister in law wasn't aware of that and she kept going into the room to get kleenex's and literally leaned over his body each time. Finally one of us asked her why she kept going into the room, that's when we told her he was still in there. The look on her face was hilarious and the realization of what she was doing was priceless.
